Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical leadership and
engineering for the overall quality of the enterprise technical
environment. This includes architecture design, development, capacity and
performance planning, documentation of deployed frameworks and ongoing
evaluations of core technologies for these areas. The Lead Engineer leads
efforts cross-functionally in adhering to standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:
The Lead Engineer Network Services will research and ensure the strategic
alignment of migration, testing, implementation plans and configuration of
new and existing technologies.
Lead cross-functional meetings (with Development Team, BA's, and User
Groups) to understand application design, requirements necessary to create
quality technology solutions.
Research new technology in response to enterprise-scale business
requirements or systems configurations.
She/He will be responsible for training and providing technical guidance to
team members.
Develop relevant documentation for new enterprise-scale technologies that
will be supported by other groups.
Advance user/external vendor relationships.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and
10+ years of networking infrastructure IT experience, with 8+ years global
enterprise experience and knowledge of Data Center environments.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are required along with
strong verbal and written communication skills.
Candidates must have the ability to work under minimal direction as well as
in a team environment.
Flexibility with work schedule to handle after-hours emergencies is a must.
Basic understanding of Project Management Principals is required.

The following skill sets are required:
Experience and high level expertise in designing complex, highly available,
infrastructure solutions in a large-scale, multisite, international
environment
WAN circuits and protocols (VPLS, MPLS, DWDM, WAN Optimization) experience
Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network
environment
Expertise in interfacing with carriers to manage circuit delivery,
troubleshooting and migration
Experience in one or more of the following: IP Routing and Services, BGP,
OSPF, Layer-2 switching technologies and related WAN technologies like
MPLS, DWDM, T1, T3 OC3 and other WAN Technologies
Knowledge of DWDM Optical infrastructure and Dark/lit service technologies
Expertise in technologies like MPLS-VPN, MPLS-TE and understanding of
implementation on Cisco platforms
Experience with Cisco Routing and Switching platforms like Catalyst
4500/6500/7600, ASR 1000 and Nexus
Knowledgeable of Cisco IP technologies like QoS, ACLs, Multicast, Security,
etc.
IP convergence and Cisco enhancements for fast convergence
Ability to successfully plan, document and perform complex maintenance
windows on production network and adhere to change management policies and
procedures
Flexibility with work schedule to handle after-hours emergency situations

The following skill sets are preferred:
Must have strong product knowledge as it applies to: Cisco IOS, XR; All
Cisco router and switch products Cat6xxx, 76xx, NxK, ASRxxxx product
families
Demonstrate current industry knowledge as it pertains to the following;
Management of peering/IX/NAP issues, an expert level of understanding in
contemporary network architectures, networking security
protocols/procedures, and network scaling/capacity issues
IPV6/IPV4 routing and networking migration technologies
IP internetworking and LAN Switching technologies
Dynamic IP Routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, Multicast) experience
Expertise on latest hardware and operating systems ( Nexus, IOS-XR, NX-OS,
Junos)
Expertise in inter-AS connectivity (eBGP, MPLS)
High Availability protocols and Global Server Load Balancing technologies
Next Generation Firewalls, Stateful firewalls, SSL, VPN experience
Virtualization technologies, both networking (VRF, VDC, Nexus1kv) and
compute (VMware, Openstack) experience
In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability and capacity
planning.
