Title :Instructional Designer Location : Deerfield, IL Duration : Initially 6 months, possible extensions Must have pharmaceutical experience.e OBJECTIVES: The Sales Training and Development department designs, develops and delivers sales training curriculum, courses and coaching for the Takeda Pharmaceuticals sales team, applying pharmaceutical industry and adult learning best practices. In addition to providing programs that relate to all of Takeda Pharmaceuticals, the department: 1) Ensures that all promotional activities observed or taught are in accordance with Takeda Operational Guidelines and Code of Conduct. 2) Builds the foundation of Takedaism in new hires and instills it in existing employees. 3) Provides up-to-date training by responding to marketplace conditions. 4) Increases and improves the quality and performance of our Sales Force, which will result in an increase in market share for the company. Role within the Department: Designs and develops performance-based learning curriculum and individual courses/modules for the sales team. Develops course content and reviews with Training Management. Consistently applies best practices and adult learning principles throughout curriculum and courses. ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Uses ADDIE and/or HPI models to assess, create and implement training. • Conducts analysis. Identifies sales team strengths and areas of needed improvement. Recommends effective sales learning curriculum and courses for sales new hires and field sales force. • Designs and develops training materials (participant/facilitator guides, handouts, training aids, power point slides, etc.), as necessary for courses. Designs and develops course/module content to meet all learning objectives while applying instructional design principles and adult learning. Develops learning objectives for all courses, modules and curriculum. • Conducts research through literature searches, internet, professional organizations, etc., to incorporate the most up-to-date and relevant practices to include in all sales courses. Cites reference materials and coordinates approval from publisher when copyrighted publication copies are utilized during training. • May be involved in Train the Trainer planning and implementation. • Identify appropriate measurement tools for assessing training effectiveness and application after training has been conducted. Design tools, implement and track results. Develop conclusions, reports and make recommendations to management. • Develop course evaluations with Program Manager, Assessment to be completed by participants. • Monitors all training programs and modifies course content as needed. May attend sessions to assess course flow and effectiveness along with insuring that learning objectives are being met. Regularly meets with Trainers and Sales Training Management to receive input/feedback on curriculum and courses as well as provide input to management on course revisions, additions, and deletions. • Performs other duties as assigned to meet just in time training needs. • Responsible to develop and/or revise new and existing sales training programs. There are many steps included in course development and the Instructional Designer will be responsible to coordinate and complete all the steps involved with each course.
