This is a 1 year contract position to possible hire. Linux Systems Administrator • This position is for a skilled Senior Linux administrator to join our clients team in a right to hire capacity. The position will be in charge of building, maintaining and deploying Linux System Administration (Debian-based distributions). Client is migrating from Debian to CentOS • The Linux System Administrator assists the other System Administrators in the team, learning and participating in actively migrating and running CentOS. Candidates without experience in Linux-based development will not be considered. Core Responsibilities: • Primary skills surround basic Linux Systems Administration and an Operational Attitude with solid, but basic networking skills. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot computer and related hardware and software, including peripheral equipment • Build software systems and modules based on design specifications • Debug legacy and/or unmaintained applications • Construct and execute experimental tests to challenge system and code level assumptions • strong Perl knowledge. • Application migration from Debian to CentOS. Experience Requirements: • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and rapidly changing priorities. • Experience with change management processes and providing end-user support. • Strong technical aptitude, demonstrated by experience in implementing, configuring, administering, and testing computer systems.
