*Duration: 9+ months* *Project Description:* - Client is seeking a Business Process Analyst to assist in the development of new processes and revising existing processes to make them more effective and efficient. The processes are related to the development of a Port Operations Service Center and the selection and implementation of a Breakbulk Terminal Operating System. - This role will conduct critical analysis of business and technical processes, standardized policies and business software systems with the Port’s Operations Department. The BPA will lead or assist in leading cross functional teams and work collaboratively with IT, process owners, organizational leadership and functional experts create or enhance processes and technology. This role also acts as a liaison between business end-users and application development teams to translate efficiency requirements into technical design. - Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and technical skills as well as experience in formal process analysis, process development and process reengineering. Must have excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, Port Operations staff and Management. - Must have the ability to work with both technical and non-technical individuals and communicate clearly and effectively. Must thrive in a fast paced, results oriented and collaborative environment. Must have strong attention to detail. Must have ability to organize, prioritize work, meet strict deadlines and work both independently and in small teams. Must have excellent planning skills. Must have the ability to understand issues, analyze options and articulate a course of action to a wide variety of individuals. Ability to work independently or in conjunction with the Port’s Senior BPA and Port staff in process facilitations & requirements gathering. Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. - This position is a junior role and will work under the direction and lead of the Port’s Senior BPA. *Expected Deliverables:* - Process documentation of “As Is” and “To Be” process states as required using the Port’s standard templates. - Process-based (not technical) requirements for use in evaluating potential new systems. - Documented process risks and related mitigation. - Supporting process documentation possibly including but not limited to gap analysis, business process analysis that identifies business owners, SMEs, systems and tools in use. *Specific Skills Required* (Programming languages, databases, operating systems, etc.): - Excellent written documentation development skills required.
