*Oracle Pl/Sql DeveloperHouston,TX9 months contract with Extension* Responsibilities: Technology Gather, analyze, document and manage business and user requirements (both functional and non-functional) for technology solutions that address business needs. Assist in identifying potential solutions for the business and provide input to issues or risks. Identify project interdependencies and communicate requirement/scope issues and participate in driving them to resolution for inclusion in system requirements. Delivery Participate in all phases of SDLC: from system analysis and design thru development and test to deployment and support. Translate business and user requirements in to system and technical requirements. Participate in designing and developing software systems by writing Design Specifications description of framework, interfaces, business components, and interaction between the components. Be able to troubleshoot any complex issues. Ensure appropriate bi-directional tracing of project modifications back to business and user requirements. Support Provide production support, diagnose and quickly resolve production issues. Assist with the production support process, including review of reports, data sources and online screens to ensure technical solutions perform according to the specifications and meet defined business requirements. Complete all support documentation on assigned projects, including creating and updating all user and technical documentation, operational support documentation and archival of all related project documentation. Requirements: Software design, development, and implementation fundamentals (10+ years). Software documentation, testing, maintenance. Software performance tuning using large datasets. *Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Unix/AIX custom development (8+ years). Experience working within a defined development life cycle methodology and use of defect tracking tools.Experience with writing use cases and test cases.Experience working with the following tools: MS Office, MS Visio and version control/change management process.Experience is object oriented programming (i.e. JAVA/C++) is a plus but not mandatoryExperience with utility industry and marketing applications is a plus but not mandatory.* Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant business discipline from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
