*SAN Storage EngineerCollege Park, Md. 6 month contract,* Requirements are below: RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The Storage Engineer serves as the lead role in projects involving concept, automation, design, implementation, scripting, maintenance and programming. The environment consists of a large number of *SAN, NAS and Object environments consisting of predominantly, EMC, Brocade and Cisco.* MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS: The desired candidate must have experience with the following concepts and products: Qualified candidates must have experience with large scale heterogeneous storage infrastructure (SAN and NAS). Linux system administration (RedHat), especially as it relates to storage systems File system protocols: NFS, iSCSI, FL, FLOE, AFP Understanding of storage hardware concepts (e.g. Enclosures, Drives, RAID etc.) Good understanding of disaster recovery concepts and techniques, especially as it applies to storage systems Storage Replication, Snapshots, Mirroring, Backups Transparent disk/filesystem encryption Deduplication EMC Network Attached Storage (NAS) EMC Storage Area Network (SAN) Qualified candidates must know at least one scripting language well (ideally Perl or Python) in addition to shell. Experience with developing automated processes that interact with a vast storage infrastructure. Must be capable of writing technical documentation, making presentations to an internal audience, interacting positively with upper management and outside vendors. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and experience in the following areas is a plus: EMC InsightIQ appliance Varonis Suite of Products Perl/shell scripting APTARE Storage Reporting VMware ESX Storage Virtualization methods and technologies Experience with commodity hardware running software based storage solutions is a plus. Working knowledge of one or more programming languages (C, C++, Java) is a plus. Working knowledge of low latency storage, including SSD, Flash and DRAM based storage arrays.
