*Title: Oracle Database Administrator* *Location: Johnston, IA*
*Duration: 6 Months* Responsible for all activities related to the administration of Oracle databases, which would include installation and upgrade activities, performance tuning, capacity planning, configuration management, security management and backup & recovery management. At times, would also instruct application developers in the use of database concepts and tools to improve the efficiency of applications and advise on correct usage of appropriate data manipulation techniques. In addition, would work on documentation needs for the team and possibly organize current documentation. This contract position requires an individual with a fair amount of technical experience and someone with an aptitude for technical work, but in addition have a mindset for organizational and documentation skills. Because of the need to provide assistance to and work with team members to solve issues needing technical expertise and database knowledge, being a team player with good communication skills is an absolute must. Experience with Oracle 10g, 11g or 12c servers and databases. Knowledge and familiarity with AIX, Linux and/or Sun Solaris operating systems, RMAN backup utility, DataPump Export/Import, Oracle OEM monitoring tool, and SQLPlus query tool a must. Candidate should have the ability to perform Oracle performance tuning and monitoring and have a good understanding of Oracle space management along with solid knowledge of PL/SQL language. A comprehensive understanding of SQL in general and basic understanding of relational databases is essential.
