The storage engineer is responsible for the evaluating various storage
platforms, SAN technologies, as well as emerging storage strategies to
provide cohesive infrastructure solutions in a high availability data
center. This position is part of a solutions planning & engineering team
that works closely with other Architecture and support teams to develop
comprehensive infrastructure solutions.

This position requires an extensive background in storage technologies, with
a demonstrated ability to execute well thought POCs to develop and implement
solution in a large-scale, mission-critical, multi-PB storage environment. A
background in various backup solutions and architectures will also be a key
in this position. Candidate will be required to perform hands-on storage
work for technology evaluations, benchmarking along with application tests.

This role assumes overall technical responsibility for the success of
solution construction, implementation and system integration in a storage
technology. This role will deliver new and complex high quality solutions in
response to varying business requirements. In-depth knowledge of
leading-edge products and technology in conjunction with industry experience
will be a plus.
*RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:*

·         Execution of proof of concepts on various SAN, NAS & HPC storage
technologies.

·         Benchmarking of various storage technologies including throughput,
IOPS, latency as well as application response time against various test
cases.

·         Enumerate and articulate TCO and ROI supporting investments in
Datacenter and Storage.

·         Establish documentation of the new technology and provide
necessary transitional support to smoothly migrate new technology into
production.

·         Provide level 3 support to handle complex storage related
production issues.

·         Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure
consistent and seamless storage continuity and capabilities.

·         Provide implementation, integration as well as support aspect of
selecting various storage technologies to management.
*REQUIRED SKILLS:*

·         Experience in Storage Solution Engineering and proven ability to
design complex solutions.

·         Effective communicator; verbal, written and presentation skills &
creativity

·         Ability to articulate and develop Datacenter and Storage solution
and roadmaps for various teams

·          Ability to produce high-quality written materials including
proposals, business cases and plans which convey complex analysis and
arguments in a concise manner

·          Experience with major SAN technologies (EMC SAN and NAS products
and technologies including EMC Symmetrix, Celerra, Clarion, Enterprise
Control Center (ECC), Netapp, Blue-Arc, Isilon NAS products)

·         Experience with backup to disk and de-duplication products.

·         Experience in administration and design of enterprise backup
systems (netbackup preferred)

·         High level understanding of Oracle RDBMS and SQL Server RDBMS
backup/restore mechanisms.

·         Proficiency with file systems and volumes (RAID systems and
configurations.)

·         Enterprise class data center operations experience (procedures,
management, reporting, etc)

·          ITIL
*REQUIRED EXPERIENCE*

·         Ten years of Information Technology experience.

·         Five to seven years working with Storage technologies.
*DESIRED EXPERIENCE*



·         Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related
field, or equivalent experience.
