Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience 5 years experience developing large database systems including significant experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and scripting Several years experience with database design, ETL processes, and data warehousing Thorough understanding of database modeling approaches, including “tall-and-skinny” (EAV) model. Ability to work independently and develop projects in an agile fashion – starting from high-level requirements and refining in close interaction with customers, through short and productive development cycles Experience supporting application developers building data-driven applications Deep and practical understanding of database development and traditional and agile project management methodologies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with other database technologies (e.g., Postgres) a plus Any experience with scientific or drug discovery database or database applications development a plus Data Engineering Culture Blend of driving operational maturity across an organization of very diverse and talented people without inhibiting innovation, creativity, and feature velocity Team members need to be able accept responsibility for a large number of initiatives while maintaining sufficient focus to drive each to completion Team members need to work effortlessly across organizations and across functional disciplines.
