The Business Analyst will work closely with the Business Partner and * ** *Business Subject Matter Expert(s) in the definition, testing, training, implementation, and support of functional requirements. * ** *The Business Analyst will identify requirements via industry standard analysis techniques such as Unified Modeling Language including Use Cases, Activity and Class Diagram. The Analyst will solicit * ** *requirements through interviews, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures. * ** *The BA aspects of the role will include the creation/revision of the following analysis artifacts and deliverables: * ** *Process Maps Business Requirements Business Rules User Stories User Flows * ** *Key Responsibilities Own the process of gathering business requirements and drive standards of excellence Analyzing, documenting and proposing solutions for complex business areas and preparing functional specifications. Assisting in the preparation of user and system test plans. Collecting, understanding, and documenting business requirements, translating these into functional specifications and detailed test plans. Analyzing and documenting business processes. Documenting workflows and results of business analysis and obtaining sign-off from business subject matter experts on the specifications. Developing User Acceptance test plans Providing the link between the customer and development teams (both internal and external) regarding software functionality, throughout the development lifecycle. Producing weekly reports for the project manager showing progress against outstanding milestones, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies. Experience Required: Proven track record in Software Development Strong experience working in a RUP development environment Strong experience working in a globally distributed team. Strong experience delivering Proven experience at driving consensus across multiple stakeholders End to end experience of the project and product lifecycle UML including Use Cases, Activity and Class Diagrams Writing of Functional and Technical Specifications for Software Solutions in Complex Business Environments Business Process Modeling Knowledge of Change Processes Analysis and Solution Definition: Able to organize, hold and contribute in business\technical workshops Quickly understands the business issues and challenges of client's organization and industry Ability to document and understand business process models Ability to document solutions in Functional\Technical Specifications and Use Cases Identifies client organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement Edits and reviews requirements, specifications (including Functional Specifications), business processes and recommendations related to proposed solutions Effectively communicates with the Business and IT Analysts to ensure that ideas are communicated coherently Writes documents in plain business English Directs and drives forward the business to realize the business vision Inputs into business\user testing phases. Project Execution Assists in enforcement of business project deadlines and schedules Takes input from their manager and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback Communicates and applies project standards Self-management and direction. Software Usage MS Office suite including usage of Comments\Review Changes in Word MS Project/Project Server Case Tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect, Heliocentric, Rational Rose, Requisite Pro) MS Visio Personal Attributes Bachelors Degree, in a technology related field or other degree preferred Minimum of 5+ years experience in building and specifying mission critical business applications Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks.
