Here is another role we could use some help with. It is a 3 month contract
for downtown. Local only. In terms of an hourly rate we can go up to $55/hr
ctc. They like people that are Citrix heavy. Please make this a priority
for today as well!
CITRIX Admin
Chicago, IL (local only)
3 months
Responsibilities
- Be part of a talented team to support our Windows infrastructure
- Work closely with and provide assistance to the application support
teams
- Microsoft Cluster configuration and troubleshooting
- Maintain Active Directory (Group Policies, login scripts, DFS)
- Able to perform system management, performance turning and monitoring
- Manage a VMware infrastructure
- Migrate physical machines to virtual environments
- Ensure systems are available, stable, and functional
- Troubleshoot and analyze performance issue and or outages
- Apply bug fix updates and patches
- Participate in a 24/7 365 day on-call support rotation schedule
- Identify failures and perform / recommend corrective actions
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Windows, Citrix, Clustering,
Networking, WMware, SAN, NAS and Active Directory authentication
technologies.
- Design, write, and improve scripts to improve functionality of system
- Automate system processes
- Challenge and implement architects’ system designs
- Supports the most complex components of core systems with minimal
direction
- Write up and provide system architecture and standard operating
procedure documentation
- Deliver consistent work results at a high level
- Contribute to department and interdepartmental projects as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Windows Administration experience, preferably in a large
IT environment (no less than 500 servers)
- Strong understanding of VMware ESX
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory
- Scripting (VBS, Jscript, PowerShell)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, SMTP, ICMP, ICA, SMB
- Windows 2000\2003\2008 - Administration, WINS, troubleshooting, IIS
- Strong windows networking skills
- Strong Knowledge of Clustering Technologies including Microsoft and
Veritas
- SAN Installation and Maintenance (Fiber, ISCSI and NAS)
- Citrix XenApp and Windows Remote Desktop
- Experience building and designing virtual infrastructure using VMware
ESX
- Certification from Microsoft, VMware or Citrix
- Strong experience designing server infrastructure in a large
environment
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Good project management and time management skills
- Requires a customer service orientation and competence in response
to vendors and staff during system development, implementation,
and problem
resolution.
- Must demonstrate strong skills in the areas of analysis, organization
and escalation.
- Must be available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week on an emergency basis for
troubleshooting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
