Detail Job Description:
- The BI ETL Analyst’s role is to examine and evaluate information
requirements for various business units across the organization,
investigate information issues and reporting problems, develop and support
complex ETL and reporting solutions, and assist in support of various
production processes supported by the Business Intelligence Team.
- This individual will use proven knowledge of ETL, SQL, and database
design to perform the ETL development and data analysis.
- Assignments may involve unstructured investigation and analysis to
respond to a business information need.
*Position responsibilities:*
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Conduct data pulls and perform customized data analysis
- Work with the data warehouse and/or non-BI data sources to perform
investigations.
- Develop rapid understanding of business issues and determine the data
needed to support investigations and/or reporting to support those issues.
- Develop and automate ETL processes for multiple audiences; critical
success factors include the abilities to:
- Understand all relevant data sources
- Extreme attention to details and data accuracy
- Provide complete solutions using ETL and SQL data mining techniques
- Work independently and research innovative solutions to challenging
technical problems
- Leverage the Enterprise Data Warehouse model
- Perform production support as needed.
*Requirements*
- Teradata and MS SQL Server (Certification preferred)
- Advanced SQL query techniques and automating import/export tasks using
Teradata utilities, MS SQL Server SSIS.
- Experience in developing *Informatica* mapping and workflows
- Strong in UNIX commands and Shell scripting.
- Comprehensive understanding of database design principles.
- Ability to develop and interpret logical and physical database
diagrams.
- Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve systems
issues.
- Innovative, service and self-motivated, team oriented, adaptable and
capable of managing competing priorities.
- Technical data analysis is crucial, including
- Advanced knowledge/skills in the use of SQL in SQL Server and
Teradata environments, *Informatica* ETL, and UNIX scripting.
