*Job Description:*

·         Design, build, and maintain the operational readiness of the
WebSphere-middleware infrastructure in a *24 x 7 x* forever computing
environment.  The Senior ME is a specialist in their skill area and is a
subject matter expert for the team.

·         Provides level 3 and 4 support (occasionally outside of business
hours) for projects and implemented applications

·         Create and configure clusters having multiple vertical and
horizontal clones, configuring and tuning JVM parameters, class path
settings, virtual hosting and session management.

·         Configure JDBC providers, Data sources, connection pool for
Oracle, DB2. Troubleshoot many database issues and work with DBA for fixing
those issues.

·         Configure WebSphere MQ JMS provider that provides J2EE•
connection factories for making connections to MQ queue and destination.

·         Set up environment for application packaging and deploying
Enterprise Application Archive (EAR), Web Application Archive (WAR) in
WebSphere on Development, QA, staging and production environments.

·         Develop shell scripts, JACL, Jython and ANT scripts to automate
the WebSphere Administration (recycling the application server, deploying
customer applications, logs rotation, monitor applications state)

·         Enable Performance Monitoring Service (PMI) to collect JVM
statistics and garbage collection data for monitoring the heap and physical
memory in WebSphere RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and advanced trouble shooting
techniques including profiling.

·         Analyze, performance tuning and troubleshooting WebSphere
components, using Tivoli Performance viewer, Log analyzer and Thread
analyzer.

·         Administrate, install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot and
provide technical supports on several Web Servers such as 113M Http Server
(Apache/Tomcat)

·         Assists in the design and ensures projects meet operational
requirements.

·         Maintains a proactive view on the performance of the middleware
platforms

·         Conducts performance analysis and tunes application to increase
performance.

·         Plans, coordinates and responds to application outages.

·         Maintains version, patch and security levels, in accordance with
the strategic direction of the company.

·         Communicates technical and non-technical information to technical
support groups, customer support centers, end-users, senior management and
vendors.
