I wanted to touch base; I have a very urgent need for a SQL DBA with some development skills but most of all, ability to learn or already have exposure to VMWare / . MUST be GC or US Citizens. Candidates must come from smaller teams as this person will be wearing multiple hats and this division, though it’s very large with 30 Databases (virtualize and physical) as well as over a thousand servers, they need to be able to work in a fast paced environment. Com skills need to be a 9-10/10. Nothing less. The client is really motivated in hiring this person. F2F interview WILL BE REQUIRED. NO SKYPE. *Location:* Washington, DC (Candidates MUST be LOCAL to DC, VA and MD who can do Inperson) *Length:* 6-9months; could convert fulltime after contract. (no set converting sal) *Top 3 Skills needed and how they are applied* 1. 7 years SQL Server administration 2. TSQL scripting 3. Windows Server 2008 4. Database Backups/Restoration/Clustering/Mirroring 5. SSIS, SSRS- Install, upgrade and administer SQL Server database engine, Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS). 6. Ability and eagerness to learn systems experience such as VMWARE, Active Directory 7. Communication and professional appearance *This person will be responsible for supporting the SQL server databases used for internal and external applications for Promontory. * - About 30 SQL Servers that are 2008 R2, 2012, and 2014 - Very polished environment there are often high up law officials in their office so this will need to be a very polished person - They will be interacting with the development team (a few in DC, and a few in NYC which are mostly Microsoft .net developers and SP devs) and the Systems team mostly who are made up of project engineers and operational support *Responsibilities will include:* · 7+ years’ experience as a SQL DBA. · Build and administer database and application environments in a high-availability landscape · Provide maintenance and support for database instances for corporate and client facing applications, including support in a consolidated SQL Server environment leveraging a wide-array of configurations, including local and multi-site failover and clustering. · Execute database performance analysis and tuning · Executing performance testing and benchmarking · Execute database backup and recovery operations, database patching and upgrades, and implementation of database security policies · Install, upgrade and administer SQL Server database engine, Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS). · Provide architectural guidance on strategies to improve data processing operations and monitor current and future implementations. · Implement and maintain security, backup and disaster recovery strategies for OS and databases. · Performing testing, analysis, troubleshooting, issue resolution, for database and application specific incidents; Drive improvements & provide recommendations to optimize environment · SSRS report development, SSIS package development · Partner with project technical leads and development teams to execute technical solutions in line with customer expectations and company strategic goals · Ensuring compliance with, maintaining, and enhancing standard practices and processes · Documenting policies, processes, and procedures · On-call/after hours support when necessary · Bonus if have skills in: Windows Server OS Admin, AD, GPOs, VMware, willingness to learn new technologies Regards: Sam Williams - Recruiting Manager ITBrainiac Inc.
