Client is hiring a Sr. Application Developer. As the Sr. Application Developer working as an Environments Management Resource, you will participate in development and implementation of small to mid-sized scaled application systems in an Agile environment. You will work closely with designers/analysts and systems teams to implement new applications in an enterprise environment. Additionally you will attend meetings to understand desired results, coding, unit and/or system testing, and document the changes following Client's Agile framework. Furthermore, you will summarize issues and communicate system capabilities or limitations to the teams you support; as well as monitor system capacity and/or performance issues and report the status to management and teams impacted. This position will require you to troubleshoot and correct issues in urgent situations. Responsibilities: - Represents Environment Management Team in daily stand-ups, planning sessions and during sprint core hours. - Interfaces with system designers to design, code, test and implement application programs. - Assists in developing application specifications. - Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests to find errors and revise programs. - Writes documentation that describes installation and operating procedures. - Writes new programs of moderate complexity and scope, working with basic applications, systems designs, and specifications and utilizing standard procedures and techniques. - Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting and issue resolution. - Assist in grooming stories in assigned backlog - Build and maintain technical relationships with cross teams. - Report on team metrics to management as requested. - Effectively communicate technical proposals to team members and management. - Document support one activities and assign them to tier one support - Develop and maintain documentation for standards, processes and procedures and store them on team site - Recommend, develop and maintain the tools necessary for the successful support of the environment by the team. - Represent the team on project meetings. - Proactively seek out and implement efforts that continuously improve non-production environments and related process to enable Sprint Teams to deliver quality systems in a timely and efficient manner. - Provide estimates for team velocity and capacity. Frequent technologies used in this role would be: Java / J2EE, WebLogic, Tomcat, Shell Scripting, Bash Scripting. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience - At least 8 years of experience in Application Support: Java / J2EE - At least 8 years of experience in container technology like Apache Tomcat or WebLogic or WebSphere - At least 2 years of experience working with Amazon Web Services including Chef or Docker or Puppet - At least 2 years of Unix or Wintel experience - At least 2 years of experience working in a middleware environment Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences - 10 years of experience in Application Development or Application Support: Java / J2EE - 10 years of experience in container technology like Apache Tomcat - 3 years of experience working with Amazon Web Services including Chef or Docker or Puppet - 3 years of Unix or Wintel experience - 3 year of experience working in a middleware environment - Competency with Agile Methodology - ITIL certification - Strong communication Regards: Sam Williams - Recruiting Manager ITBrainiac Inc.
