Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Mike Auty (ikelos) Assigned to: Ghais Issa (gissa) Summary: Makefiles don't honour DESTDIR variable Initial Comment: Hiya, Most modern makefiles support a DESTDIR variable that allows the make install process to be put in a separate subdirectory (rather than just in /). This feature's not very common, but is used a lot by Gentoo to allow for installation into a sandbox before merging with the file system proper. Attached is a patch to fix the automake files to make use of the DESTDIR variable. The Makefile.in files will need regenerating after the Makefile.am files have been patched. Let me know if there's any issues with it or anything doesn't make sense and I'll be happy to help fix it up... 5:) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Adar Dembo (adembo) Date: 2008-08-08 17:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1867590 Originator: NO Should be fixed in latest code refresh. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ghais Issa (gissa) Date: 2008-07-15 12:00 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2080804 Originator: NO Hi Mike, Thank you for that patch. I have created a similar in house fix for this. I will incorporate your changes with mine. Hopefully the changes will make it into the next tools refresh. --Ghais ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=989708&aid=2018802&group_id=204462 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ open-vm-tools-devel mailing list open-vm-tools-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/open-vm-tools-devel
