RHEL 7.2 includes open-vm-tools 9.10.2. So you should upgrade to RHEL 7.2.

Someone now when the package will be update on RHEL 7. Because in the actual
version (9.4) we cannot get some data related to the file system from our
vcenter since this version do not support XFS, only 9.10 does.
