This is just a quick email as I joined the OpenABM list just now and I wanted to introduce myself and the MASS group. I want to thank Rob Allan for catalysing this :-)
I am a researcher based at the University of Leeds. I specialise in computational geography and eResearch. I am working on a number of projects that involve social simulation. I have a broad range of applied interest, not least is my interest in road safety and how to avoid and mitigate risk. Generally I am intersted in making geographical models and applying them to help understand and solve problems. I look forward to taking part in list discussion and encouraging collaboration. The MASS group is based mainly in Leeds where I work, but is expanding with membership from various mainly UK institutions. The MASS group make use of the UK National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS) Sakai Portal which provides a wiki and other tools to help us organise. MASS stands for Multi Agent Systems and Simulation. The home page of the MASS Wiki can be found via the following URL: http://portal.ncess.ac.uk/access/wiki/site/mass/home.html Best wishes, Andy http://www.geog.leeds.ac.uk/people/a.turner/
