I was browsing through the documents for OpenAFS and noticed that, similar to Coda, it also has a System Configuration Machine. My problem with Coda was that this SCM acted like a master server such that any files created by clients when this server was down was local to that client and no other client can access it even though another server was running. Is that the case with OpenAFS as well? If so is it possible to have full redundancy with OpenAFS so that when ANY server is down the system functions if there are backup servers?
