I've been pondering rsync. However, this is going to be run under Windows.
I don't know if you're planning to use the cygwin version of rsync, but it has longstanding problems. I'm not completely up to date on them, but as of a couple of months ago, there was no resolution. Google for rsync and cygwin and you'll find them.
