Hi,

Is there any historic reason for why volume ids start at 0x20000000

part of the id space, for no apparent reason? Some backwards compatibility
issue?

I suppose it helps to find FIDs in a dump if you know there must be a pattern 0x2000xxxx.
But when 7 years ago a part of our institute felt it necessary to have their own cell
I started it with 0x1000000000 to be able to later integrate them again. It works, of course,
the same.
