For the record, I've always had the problem that when tuning parameters are changed I sometimes have to wipe the cache partition. Same goes for reloading openafs, a reboot is usually required. This isn't a new problem at all, but it would be nice if at least the cache-partition-issue could be fixed (or at least detected so the user can get a nicer error message than segfault ;). Good test cases for reproducing this bug would help.
