We only build 32-bit binaries on Solaris, but it's being worked on. I

On Linux, we build twice - once for i386, and once for x86_64. You pick at install time which you use. Would this be an option for Solaris?

What is the timeline we're dealing with here? What are the deadlines we
need to know stuff by?

This year's timeline is at:

Essentially, if OpenAFS is to apply, the application needs to be with Google by 23:00 UTC on March 11. Whilst we don't need to have every mentor in place by this point, we do need to have sufficient commitments that we know that we could accept students this summer. Anything else just wastes Google's time.

The critical thing to have as part of the application is an ideas list - there's still lots of stuff from last year's list to do, but it's not necessarily clear that we would have mentors to support them. The ideas list can be a living document - we can add to it at any point, but it's one of the things Google reviews before accepting an organisation.

Cheers,

Simon.
