== 1.6.5.1 ==

Since binaries are now available for four additional platforms (AIX, RHEL5/6,
F18), it's worthwhile updating the release pages and sending out an
announcement. Derrick merged 10348 and brought the change live on
www.openafs.org during the meeting. Stephan to send the announcement to
openafs-announce.

== 1.6.6 ==

=== Linux kernels ===

Marc tested against the current state of 3.12 development, and we're still ok.
He also quotes information making it seem likely that 3.12 will be released
within "about a week". Barring a last minute change affecting the OpenAFS
client, this means that 1.6.5.1 should work with 3.12. Thus, no pressure to get
1.6.6 out in order to support the latest Linux kernel.

=== Parallel build issues ===

It was agreed to revert 10310 since it causes significant failure rates, even
though the change itself is quite possibly correct. 10337 will be merged
afterwards, and Ben points out that it's actually required to build on FreeBSD.

=== RT #131749 ===

Probably a real bug, but introduced in 2008 and affects pthreaded vos only,
which is not the default. Not a blocker for 1.6.6pre1.

=== Client panic reports on openafs-info and in RT #131747 ===

According to Andrew, these panics are due to changes introduced with the 1.6.2
release which make the client panic rather than delivering bogus data when an
error occurs while reading from the cache. The assumed reason for this
happening is lack of signal handling. The stack of changes starting at gerrit
10354 should address at least the reported cases and is in use on at least one
site hitting this problem frequently, especially on EL6. It was agreed that
we'd like to include this stack in the 1.6.6 release after careful review (help
needed).

=== BSD fixes ===

Ben would like to get 10340 and 10339 (not yet accepted on master) into 1.6.6.
They're supposed to affect *BSD only, but touch files not exclusively used by
those platforms. But if ready in time, including them seems reasonable.

=== Release notes ===

A first draft is available in gerrit 10359. Help is needed to polish it and
fill in some gaps.

== Buildbot master work ==

Jason, Andrew and Mike have been working on upgrading the buildbot master.
Deploying this right after the 1.6.6pre1 release seems to be the right timing.
