Dear OpenAFS Development Team,
I hope this email finds you well. I am a B.Tech student at SPPU University,
Pune, India, eager to contribute to OpenAFS through GSoC 2025. I am
strongly interested in distributed file systems and have worked on projects
involving command-line tool development, JSON processing, and automation.
One of my key projects was designing an offline parallel antivirus
pipeline, which leveraged distributed processing and automated scanning
workflows. This gave me hands-on experience with scalable system design,
structured data handling, and workflow automation. Additionally, I built a
GIS-based web application using PostgreSQL and PostGIS for spatial data
processing and visualization, strengthening my expertise in data
structures, efficient processing, and JSON data parsing for handling
spatial datasets.
With my background in C, JSON handling, and scripting, I am particularly
interested in the *"*Enhance OpenAFS Command-Line Tools with JSON Output"
project. I’d appreciate guidance on:
1. Understanding OpenAFS’s CLI architecture
and JSON integration considerations. 2. Any existing
discussions, design references, or documentation related to this
enhancement. 3. Beginner-friendly issues or relevant code areas to
explore.
I look forward to contributing and learning from the OpenAFS community.
Thank you for your time.
Best regards,
Mrunal Mehar
