can you try this patch against 1.3.84.  the work done by osi_clear_inode()
is now delayed until ->destroy_inode() which is available in both 2.4 and


        I got a kernel panic at 5 am . The only thing recorded was :

Jun 10 05:00:07 system kernel: kernel BUG at inode.c:1204!
Jun 10 05:00:07 system kernel: invalid operand: 0000
Jun 10 05:00:07 system kernel: CPU:    0

Unfortunately when the system was rebooted I was not around to examine the display.
