Regarding aklog: "check again", and make sure you using the right configure options. (They should be obvious). Also make sure you're using the most up-to-date CVS tree. After talking over with a few people, we decided to wait on asetkey until after 1.4. Probably after 1.4 I'll also tackle afs2k5db, and maybe ka-forwarder.
