I've got RPMS of rc3 which should work with any FC4 kernel. I'm going to start
building rc4 RPMS today now that I've got all my scripts working on all the
various x86 platforms.

Is OpenAFS not available for Fedora Core 4? I tried to

There are no RPMS yet.

The RPMS fropm Chris Wing
 http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~wingc/openafs/dist/
... work fine on FC4, with a few minor patches that are also necessary
for FC3. See
https://lists.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-devel/2005-August/012786.html

You have to use at least kernel-2.6.12-1.1398_FC4 for the
openafs-kernel-module to load correctly. See
https://lists.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-devel/2005-August/012794.html
... for details.

Cheers,
