I have a /pkg as my mounting on afs which should resolve the @sys variable.

What do you mean by "as my mounting" Is it a symlink for /pkg->/afs/gv/GV2/@sys
?
Could you use /afs/gv/GV2/sun4x_510 as you know what type system you are on.

Or are you trying to use the AFS/NFS translator?

So when I say cd /pkg it should go to /afs/gv/GV2/sun4x_510/... since the
@sys variable is sun4x_510 in Solaris 10. Instead it gives /afs/gv/Gv2/@sys.
When I open a software it complains that this directory does not exist and
so I am not able to launch and use the software in Solaris 10.

Therefore, is there a fix to it? Any help is appreciated

What does fs sysname show? It should show

Current sysname is 'sun4x_510'

@sys works for us in sun4x_510.

Thanks
