So your output should look like:

$ date
Wed May  7 12:37:57 EEST 2008

$ date -u
Wed May  7 09:38:16 UTC 2008

(3h difference)

If it does and the clock is set correct, your error is elsewhere. To
set the clock you can run ntpdate against ntp1.sp.se.
