Hi
Using several Windows 7 and windows 8 machines I have been unable to resolve an issue where the AFS drive takes 30 seconds to 3 minutes to open and every minute or so it has to do that all over again.
This making the drive completely unusable when browsing and saving files.
I have configured the same user and afs drive on a linux machine in the same network and that performs perfectly fine.
Which leads me to believe its a Windows issue. Although I have tested a completely different user with similar sized volumes, files and folders and it works fine on the same Windows computers.
One thing I have noticed but may not be relevant is that the "bad user/volume" sends a good 3000 packets to the afs servers, whereas the "similar account" only sends around 30 packets.
I have managed to resolve this issue for some users by increasing the cache size, stats and changing the NAT ping interval.
I have tried several versions of the AFS program which have made no difference.
I was hoping someone could point me towards some settings that I might have to add in the registry that could help with the above problem.
If you need further information I will provide it as you request.
On a completely different note, all windows 8 and 8.1 machines that have I have installed AFS on, the afs client configuration in the Control panel fails to open.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can give me :)
Regards
