Dear all, I've recently come across

https://lists.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-devel/2014-September/020004.html :
[..] Unfortunately, the no-more-des.html announcement was before the
issues with IBM and the use of the Trademark were encountered. My
understanding is that the agreement requires support for the rxkad
protocol in shipped binaries and the provisioning of the kaserver as
a build option. Failure to include rxkad support means the
product/protocol cannot be called "AFS" or "AFS compatible". Failure
to provide the "kaserver" and related functionality as a build option
is a requirement of use of the "OpenAFS" name.

Would the text of this agreement be available anywhere (in a way that can be referenced, i.e without NDA)? My interest would be to see how far this agreement limits technical evolution for OpenAFS in the medium-term future.

(I have seen http://www.openafsfoundation.org/docs/openafs-foundation-ibm-trademark-agreement.pdf - but that seems to cover only the use of "OpenAFS" in the foundation name).

Thanks in advance,
jan
