The other possible issue is the "manifest hell" -- these are files which cause Windows to look for DLLs like MSVCR80. http://blog.cryos.net/archives/209-Manifest-Hell...The-New-DLL-Hell.html You can find a tremendous amount of discussion on Google searching for that filename.
