Alan, As a causal observer, I appears your're being especially hard on people that donate their time and don't get any renumeration for their efforts. Maybe I missed the intended humor in your response, but it did appear rather snarky. This is not an attack, but merely an observation.
Anywho, the question from today was asked on a Friday in July. Based on personal experience, it's not the best day to expect an immediate reply back which is compounded by the summer and possible vacations. Most want to end the work week with a little time off. I don't know how the Open BD committee works since I'm only an observer / lurker on the list, but it would be fair to assume most don't spend their Friday nights doing open source (I would like to think we all have a chance to live life in a non-digital way weekly). Also, things do get lost in the shuffle sometimes. Usually I don't have the time to go back into the archives and make sure every question was fully answered in regards to the OS projects I'm directly involved in. Plus, I do know that the main committers (Vince, Alan and Andy) do travel some so they may have not seen your question or just didn't have time to address it at the time plain forgot. Have you filed any tickets? Is so, please can you point me to those issues in the tracker. If not, you might consider filing one with complete test code that illustrates the differences. Even as a theory, this seems to conflict directly with open reality, and deflate Matt's mantra that compatibility issues always have top priority in OpenBD. Another theory could be that ColdFusion web services represent a component that the core BD development group simply doesn't leverage a lot in their own work. But the one thing I have noticed is that there's a strange silence on the subject, and that always feeds conspiracy theories (well, at least for me). I can picture a long black Adobe limousine pulling up outside the house of anyone who speaks or works towards an open source version of Adobe WSDL's. That mafia guy from The Simpson's gets out, breaks a few thumbs, says "Don't you even think of copying our web service framework", and drives off into the night. But that's a pretty wild thought, eh?
