I'll look into this--I threw a Mach-II sample app on GAE last week and 
it immediately blew up with a file permission error when it hit a 
cfdirectory call, but I didn't have time to look into it further at that 
point. Given what you're saying it sounds like it should be an easy fix.

I'll definitely be working on this for Mach-II, so I'll coordinate with 
the rest of the Mach-II team once we know what all is involved (and get 
1.8 final out the door!).
