Yep, easy to test:
<cfset foo = "outside thread" />
<cfthread name="bar">
<cfset foo = "inside thread" />
</cfthread>
<cfoutput>#foo#</cfoutput>
That will output "outside thread" because foo with a value of "inside
thread" only exists inside the thread.
