PDFBox does this:

OpenBD ships with PDFBox, but I'm pretty sure the thumbnail functionality is
only in the most recent version, which isn't what OpenBD ships with. I
personally haven't had any issues dropping a later version of PDFBox into
OpenBD but we haven't thoroughly tested all the PDFBox-related functionality
in OpenBD with versions of PDFBox other than the one OpenBD ships with.
