FWIW Jason, I use a disgusting overkill approach to this jar stuff myself.
I grep the server for any damn java, tomcat & openbd /lib directory that even looks remotely close to the right one, and make a list.
Then I dump the damn jar into all of them (being careful not to overwrite anything). Restart.
If and when that works, I go back and sequentially remove each damn one and restart, until it breaks again.
That's how I figure out where it was supposed to go (damnity damn damn).
