Windows XP (or, more specifically, IIS5) isn't supported by the
installer. IIS6 was such a huge pain in the neck that I shudder to think
what a pain IIS5 would be.
The only problem with the install would be the connector part though, so
if you're inclined, the IIS5 connector could be installed manually.
