If your SQL Server is SERVERNAME\SQLEXPRESS, it's a named instance and
is running on a non-standard port. You'll need to find out what port
SQL Server Express is running on, and enter that in the appropriate box
on the datasource configuration screen. Also, just use SERVERNAME for
the name of the server, not SERVERNAME\SQLEXPRESS.

Well, somehow I don't have to enter that in my ODBC datasource. I just
select it from a list and it reads like this: NAME\SQLEXPRESS. How do
I figure out the IP address of my SQL Server? It is different from my
server IP right?

But how do I know what to key in for Database Server?
This is the host name or IP address of your SQL Server. I assume
you have to enter that in your ODBC datasources too, no?
I do not have to enter Username and Password right?
Yes, you do.
