The way you can manage this in a distributed environment, is to either:
1/ You send the updates to each of the servers to which they then make
the update to their local copy
2/ You put your collection on a shared disk space
3/ You have your webs updated from a shared resource every x minutes.
This is how Wikipedia use to it; their search would be 30minutes behind
the content being produced/updated
