You're right... I put the old mysql-connector-java-5.1.12-bin.jar on the new \lib\ folder and everithing works fine.
The problem could be related to the external MySQL server, because this is a very old 4.0.26 version. :) Anyway, the problem is now resolved. Thank you for your help!
