Karmic is already in -14 with the usual orig name, so we'll be changing Lucid's by appending openjdk as you suggest.
So the Karmic package is ready from our side, we have fixed a bug [1] and also updated the upstream version to 2.50MP14. Once we sort out Lucid's orig name issue we'll mark the Lucid issue as "Fix Committed".
