There's some stuff about true-type in the faq, I believe.
google on www.google.com/bsd for "OpenBSD TruType" [or however
it's spelled.)
I'm no gtk guru.

What's a gnome? What's a gnome-terminal? What are its tabs?
(Not really asking, but gnome is more or less "foreign" to OpenBSD.)
I get the impression that this is some warez that groups multiple
xterms in a window and then has tabs like Mozilla.
If you're a C/C++ programmer:
If the feature is very important to you, you can try busting the
source code out of a red-hat source rpm, (OpenBSD has some tools to
handle rpms is the ports/packages), and configure and built it yourself.
This may or may not be easy, depending on gnome and you. Once built,
it might run OK. Or you might *look* at the patches in the OpenBSD
package of the other version, and see what's what, and if you could
make those changes on the later version. There might be a "flavor"
you can activate.
You might also email whoever is the maintainer of the gnome-terminal
OpenBSD port, ask about the version/feature, see if you can get
whatever he has , and offer to test it and report back to him. It
might be close to ready for release, or there might be "issues".
It might be an issue in a library, too. As I said, ask the maintainer
what the issue is. (try also a google/bsd for "OpenBSD Gnome-terminal")
Do the googling before the asking.

I think it's against the law to reveal this. (Again, it's the sort
of feature/cruft that caused many of us to leave Linux.)
You'll need to install and use the colorls port or package.

Only root could do this in OpenBSD.
I'd say look in the OpenBSD man pages for gnome. It will tell you,
I'm confident. (I don't run gnome, as you may have gathered).

this works for a lot more than gnome.

/usr/share/locale/ca_ES.ISO8859-1
/usr/share/locale/ca_ES.ISO8859-1/LC_CTYPE
/usr/share/locale/ca_ES.ISO8859-15
/usr/share/locale/ca_ES.ISO8859-15/LC_CTYPE
Same place for some UTF-8 stuff. Found with "locate", your
next question.
What's ca-ES, Catalan?

This was because the locate database had not yet been built, i.e.
you had not had the machine alive and running when /etc/weekly is
run from root's crontab. (3:30 AM Saturday, I think) When I install
a new box, I usually run "sh /etc/weekly" as soon as I'm done
installing ports/packages just to get the process started.

Right. Ask away.

It is going to be hard to make it Linux. Your favorite Linux stuff
is not native or seldom used by OpenBSD "community" for various
reasons, principally taste and prejudice or too much "gnuishness".
So you will have to import them or get used to hearing "Huh?" a lot
when you mention them, like gnome-terminal. You'll hear this about
your favorite editor, too. "Why don't you just run nvi?, (implying
'like every decent, god-fearing person does').
> At least I didn't ask "HELP! HOW CAN I INSTALL BERYL/AIXGL IN OPENBSD????"
Slowly and carefully, with an open mind, but without very high
expectations of success. ;-)
