ok... I have skimmed through some parts of the absolute book and I
think I start to understand what you're talking about :)

The point is that I do not really know what's my internal net... the
netmask is 255.255.255.0 or 11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000 ;)
which means that I have 24 fixed bits, i.e. /24
(formerly known as class C)... so that I should have 256 available
IPs. The binary mask is 00000000, the hex mask 0x00 ... You see, I've
done my homework!

BUT... what's my internal net?? I have fixed the 192 and 168, and free
the two last slots,
192.168.X.X
What should I write for the internal net? My current IP? No... I don't
have access to the net when I do that... or maybe it's the
interfaces... I have this:

#set our macros
ext_if="iwi1"           #the external interface
int_if="iwi0"           #the internal interface
internal_net="192.168.2.0/24"

because I am via wlan now. Doing an ifconfig -a yields

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 33224
        groups: lo
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000
        inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128
        inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x6
bge0: flags=8802<BROADCAST,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        lladdr 00:16:41:58:cd:b0
        media: Ethernet autoselect (none)
        status: no carrier
        inet6 fe80::216:41ff:fe58:cdb0%bge0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1
iwi0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        lladdr 00:16:6f:a4:62:d7
        groups: egress
        media: IEEE802.11 autoselect (OFDM48)
        status: active
        ieee80211: nwid mynet chan 11 bssid 00:12:bf:bb:12:c7 66dB
nwkey <not displayed> 100dBm
        inet6 fe80::216:6fff:fea4:62d7%iwi0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x2
        inet 192.168.2.103 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.2.255
pflog0: flags=141<UP,RUNNING,PROMISC> mtu 33224
pfsync0: flags=0<> mtu 1460
        groups: carp
enc0: flags=0<> mtu 1536
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So that the internal interface is iwi0... I just guessed about the external one

What's wrong?!? What are the correct values for
ext_if, int_if, internal_net ???

Thanks!

Pau
