Hi... just for curious people...
After the big frustration of my laptop compatibility and o'bsd that led me to go back to linux I have been thinking and thinking... I have been skimming through the freebsd pages but I didn't get a good feeling... it's becoming blobish like linux, I think... And today I bumped into this: GNU/FreeBSD http://wiki.debian.org/Debian_GNU/kFreeBSD_FAQ http://wiki.debian.org/Debian_GNU/kFreeBSD_why Note their policy: If you're concerned about running a 100% free system, our commitment to the Debian Free Software Guidelines (DFSG) guarantees that Debian GNU/kFreeBSD doesn't contain any non-free software. In fact, we have removed some non-free binary-only drivers that are contained in the upstream FreeBSD tree, like the ath driver. And an IMPORTANT thing: They have implemented the PF from o'bsd on it!! Maybe the freebsd 6.1 kernel will better support this FJS laptop than the 4.0 o'bsd one? And you have the debian software repository ready to be digested by your epicure, glutton gnu/freebsd system... I think I am going to torture my crashbox with this... _______________________________________________ Openbsd-newbies mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.theapt.org/listinfo/openbsd-newbies
