I'm trying to setup an OpenBSD printserver with apsfilter so I can print from a Mac OS X machine to the printer connected on the OpenBSD machine. The printer is a USB attached HP DeskJet 840C.
Everything installed fine, ran the apsfilter setup and started lpd with the flags "-l -W -b 10.1.0.254". Added the ip address of the Mac to the file "hosts.lpd" and added an entry in the "hosts" file with the name and ip address of the Mac. See the manpage for lpd why I needed to do those 2 last things. Printing via the Mac fails. I can see via tcpdump that a connection is made, but the OpenBSD machine closes the connection with a FIN. The only thing I see in the logs on the OpenBSD machine is the following: Feb 11 17:02:30 serv lpd[17388] mac.local requests recvjob Feb 11 17:02:30 serv lpd[17388] mac.local Feb 11 17:02:30 serv lpd[17388] unknown printer lp I've followed the article at http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/bsd/2003/11/06/Big_Scary_Daemons.html Any idea what I might be forgetting here? Thanks in advance! _______________________________________________ Openbsd-newbies mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.theapt.org/listinfo/openbsd-newbies
