Well, if you type

   head /var/run/dmesg.boot

you'll get something like

OpenBSD 4.1-beta (GENERIC) #55: Sun Feb 25 21:38:44 EST 2007
    [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC
cpu0: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Mobile CPU 1.80GHz ("GenuineIntel" 686-class) 1.80
GHz

real mem = 1072721920 (1047580K)
avail mem = 971419648 (948652K)
using 4278 buffers containing 53760000 bytes (52500K) of memory
mainbus0 (root)
bios0 at mainbus0: AT/286+ BIOS, date 11/05/04, BIOS32 rev. 0 @ 0xfd7e0,
SMBIOS rev. 2.31 @ 0xe0010 (51 entries)
bios0: IBM 2653NTU

that file is very useful when you want to see what the kernel
probe thinks of the hardware you have.
