Choosing partition sizes is /so so so annoying/. To be good at it (I'm
not) really needs years of trying it over and over to build up
intuition. It really depends on what the specific use of each box will
be.

 Though, if you already have a layout, and you want to install on a
bigger drive, it's easy: just keep everything the same, except for the
data partition: increase that to fill the whole space. If you're
trying to install on a smaller drive... don't; start figuring out your
partitions with the smallest drive in mind.
