No, this was a BIOS limitation of old; this had nothing to do with OpenBSD. The best article I have found explaining the fundamentals is the following: http://www.dewassoc.com/kbase/hard_drives/hard_drive_size_barriers.htm Anecdotally, I have been dual-booting WinXP & OpenBSD on a 60G drive where XP's system partition is the first 30GB of the disk.
